the
A. Absolutely not. Membership of the IBPDA is accepted only after a written application and after the applicant has had a successful interview with our board members. Membership is then restricted to people who have reached and maintained the high standards set out by the IBPDA.
A. Your membership fee is used to finance the ongoing support offered to all of the members of the IBPDA. This includes on site mentoring, course structure review and recommendations for improvement, phone and e-mail counselling and so on. This is a non-profit organisation which means that money accumulated from membership fees has to, by law, be ploughed back into the organisation. There are no fat cat directors at the IBPDA!
A. We have a very clear idea of our aims indeed. These are legal requirements for us as a company and are set out in our Memorandum of Association. They are as follows:
The objects
of the company are:
a. To be a
registrar
of
NLP and Coaching Trainers (but not limited to
NLP and Coaching) who have reached the standards and
ethics as stated by the IBPDA and gone through an accreditation
process.
To act as an independent governing body for suppliers
of Personal and Business Growth Training (to include
NLP and Coaching but not limited to) standards and
ethics and to recruit and train new members for the promotion
of personal growth, human development and positive
change for self and others.
b. To educate members in personal development skills including the
techniques
of
NLP and coaching skills
c. To provide ongoing support for members education and supply free
updating
of the skills as stated above
d. To monitor and support the ongoing growth
of members businesses in the field
of human development
CLAUSE 9
Earnings over current expenditure will be dedicated to the continued
promotion
of the Objects set out in Clause 3, either through the
company or through other entities at the discretion
of the Trustees.
A. Clause 9 means that any monies accumulated by the IBPDA must, by law, be poured back into the company to grow its resources for the betterment of its members and not used for any other purpose. The IPBDA must supply very clear details to the government every year and account for all income and expenditure and is not allowed to make any profit.
A. Currently there are three trustees on the board of the IBPDA. These trustees are the founder members of the organisation that set it up because they were dissatisfied with the narrow view and field of support offered by the available governing bodies for NLP. They wanted a body that would eventually be accountable and recognised by government which offered more than just regulation for NLP but also for other forms of personal development and also for people in business. The current trustees are Lynden Blades, an NLP Master Practitioner and NLP Trainer who is also an entrepreneur and musician, Jo Bell who is not only one of the country’s best regarded teachers for children with special needs but also an NLP Master Practitioner and John Cassidy-Rice, a very highly regarded and respected expert and trainer in both NLP (NLP Master Trainer) and marketing who was invited to be on the board as a consultant by Bell and Blades.
A. None of the regulating bodies for NLP in the UK or America are government recognised at this current time. However, the IBPDA is in negotiation with the government right now to become the first formally recognised regulatory body for NLP and personal growth in the UK. This is a long and complicated process and is one of the highest aims of the IBPDA.
